Sticking around Germany

Just wanted to share that we are going to be staying in Germany a while longer.  How long?  Well…  for now we will be here until January of 2010.  A long time?  Maybe.   We’ll see.

Why?  Well after weighing the pros and cons, and throwing all of that out the window, we just really feel that this is where God wants us right now.  The church we were attending recently merged with a local German church and God really has made our family a vital part of the change.  We are really excited for the opportunities that He has provided for us there.  I am currently working on a developing a new website for the merged church (called Victory International), taking care of all the computer gear, working with Ginger in children’s church, etc. etc. etc.

Ginger has also started working towards her Masters degree with University of Maryland, so we really needed to be in a stable location while she does this.  She should be able to get through all of her requirements in a couple of years, so that should give her enough time here to do that without having to worry about finding a different school, transferring her credits, etc.  BTW - Keep her in your thoughts and prayers during this time as it is really stressful being a full time mom/wife/student.  Its a good thing I don’t have to pay her, because there isn’t enough money in the bank account to pay her for all the work she does!

Finally, while there are certain aspects that I can do without, I really do love my job here.

On the other side of things, we really do miss all of our family back in Arizona.  We are planning on coming back sometime this year or next to get our fix, but not sure when because we now have to take Tristan’s school into account.  We’ll let you all know when we decide something.

Other than that, you are all still more than welcome to come hang out with us in Germany.  We always have  a spare bedroom available and love it when we have visitors.

  1. Hi All, Sally sent your message on. It’s good to hear from you in Germany. Peggy and Alan are here for the “doings” on the 4th, etc. Weather has been really hot, but since they came on Fri. it’s cooled off to the 60’s. Really a little chilly.
We’re all doing OK here on the hill. Mom will be 91 soon and she’s slowing down, but still doing all she can which is alot for her age.
We had a dinner at church today after service and Peggy, Alan, and I went. Lots of food.
It sounds like you folks have found a home in Germany. Glad you like your job and living there.
